I sowed the seed, yes in the spring
I watered it with tears, weeping and pain
But another may reap my wheat
With joy bringing to the Lord

Time after time my soul feels
Anguish and tears of the sower
But the one who sows as well as the one who reaps
Will have rewards from the hands of the Lord

The reaper gathers the fruits with joy
Not always knowing the pain it cost
For those who worked so much with Sun or rain
And with patience planted the seed
