Siempre Vivirán
Pablo Hasél
They Will Always Live
I owe my life to those who gave their lives
To awaken every sleeping conscience
What would become of me on this dark path?
Without the torch they lit, illuminating the future
We owe them so much for our well-being
With their example, they pushed us to fight
They are an invincible force when fatigue haunts
I wish to embrace them, tell them so many things
To learn even more by talking to them
But I know their legacy and how much it teaches us
I know the answer to what they would tell me
And the best gratitude is to resist day by day
And victory will be because of them
Paco Ceda wrote in a cell with heartbeats
Eternal glory to the fallen for freedom
Our memory will avenge them, our dedication will honor them
They will continue to pluck the flowers
But they will not stop spring
Deep down, what they put on them
Knowing that they will not win this war
The examples are immortal
They planted seeds that will germinate
Those who die for freedom will always live
This is for every female guerrilla who overcame fear
For the happiness of fighting for a new world
Knowing that if they fell in combat, another would take up their rifle
Choosing to die before kneeling
For every antifascist who killed Nazism
We will not betray Fysas, Agullo, Palomino
For every brave soul of the International Brigades
Who came leaving so much for our freedoms
Their memory is worth any sacrifice
For every completed sentence like Isabela Parisio
We swear we will bring justice and we will
Even if they want to kill us like they did to them
They left a better world
The enemy's lost battle is not killing the legacy
Of those who inspired living forever
So that injustice finds death
They will continue to pluck the flowers
But they will not stop spring
Deep down, what they put on them
Knowing that they will not win this war
The examples are immortal
They planted seeds that will germinate
Those who die for freedom will always live
History will absolve those condemned to die
For refusing to live on their knees
Solidary men and women
Who rebelled with a purpose
To break the chains of the proletariat
They risked their lives for the cause
They could have stayed home
But their revolutionary conscience prevented it
Feeling every injustice as their own
Not being individualistic as is the norm
In this sick capitalist society
They were turned into a threat
They were called terrorists
For standing up to the fascists, ah
Without fear holding them back
Incredible people were the indispensable ones
Whose story deserves to be told
They will continue to pluck the flowers
But they will not stop spring
Deep down, what they put on them
Knowing that they will not win this war
The examples are immortal
They planted seeds that will germinate
Those who die for freedom will always live
