Vodka Y Caramelos
Pablo Moro
Vodka and Candy
I found her at a Siniestro Total concert,
she was buying the beers.
I was finishing a puzzle of reasons to keep going
and she was the last piece.
I asked her to come to a place unknown
and she agreed to come to my place.
She told me her memory was full of forgetfulness:
it's just how things go.
Like the night went by.
Between vodka and candy,
watching videos of The Simpsons,
not even brushing against each other, stopping the clock.
Between laughter and pills, between silences and screams,
searching for the tickles
that in the end, the sun gave us.
We woke up dressed in a curtain disguise
and a hell of a headache.
A kind of sadness tangled with the clothes,
having breakfast in bed.
I don’t even know your name, nor if it matters,
I don’t care if you lie to me.
What if instead of leaving, you stay until tomorrow and we’re two survivors...?
And the door slammed shut.
Like an empty street, a lighter that won’t spark,
police sirens, like the September wind.
I haven’t been honest since,
what for? If no one understands me.
Siniestro never played again, and her name was Friday...
And the night went by.
Between vodka and candy.....
