Ternura Dos Quarenta
Paco Bandeira
Tenderness of Forty
When I think of what I've been through, borders of loneliness
Had to give but didn't, looked back and thought
I have nothing in my hand
Had time and didn't feel it, had loves and didn't love
The friends I lost, and the craziness I lived
There are so many that I don't know anymore
Who I was, who I am and who I seem
If someone is waiting for me today, for sure, I deserve it
I still deserve, love your presence
To face life, with the tenderness, of forty
There were so many ages, of the life I left behind
I don't want to feel nostalgic, I go for other friendships
To love what I didn't love
The drinks I didn't drink, the records I didn't play
The poems I didn't read, the movies I never saw
The songs I didn't sing
My friends, what matters is the smile
To continue the journey, with the courage, that is needed
It's no use, to settle scores with life
The tenderness of forty, has no score, nor measure
It's no use, to settle scores with life
The tenderness of forty, has no score, nor measure
