Lo que Puede el Dinero

What Money Can Do
Long ago money, much must be loved
It makes the clumsy discreet and a man to respect
It makes the lame run and the mute speak
Those without hands want it badly
Even the foolish and rude farmer
Money turns into a noble doctor
The richer one is, the greater their worth
Those without money are not their own masters
And if you have money, you'll have consolation
Pleasures and joys and a portion from the Pope
You'll buy paradise, earn salvation
Where there's a lot of money, there's a lot of blessing
It creates priors, bishops, abbots
Archbishops, doctors, patriarchs, powers
To foolish clerics it gives many dignities
It turns truths into lies, lies into truths
It makes many clerics and many ordained
Many monks and nuns, sacred religious
Money makes them well-examined
To the poor, it says they are not educated
I have seen many priests in their preachings
Disdain money, also their temptations
But in the end, they grant forgiveness for money
They absolve fasts and offer prayers
Friars and clerics say they love to serve God
But if they smell that the rich is about to die
And hear their money starting to jingle
They begin to laugh at who will take it
