Maria da Minha Infância
Padre Marcelo Rossi
Maria of My Childhood
I was small, I don't even remember
I just remember that at night, by the bed
I put my little hands together and prayed in a hurry
But I prayed like someone who loves
In the Hail Marys I prayed
I always skipped some words
And very tired, I ended up falling asleep
But I slept like someone who loves
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Time passes, it doesn't come back
I miss that time
When I called you my mother
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Then I grew up, I remember
And I forgot our friendship
I would arrive home upset and tired
I didn't even feel like praying
I started to doubt, I remember
The purest things they taught me
I lost the habit of the innocent child
My hands hardly came together
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Time passes, it doesn't come back
I miss that time
When I called you my mother
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Your love grows with us
A mother never forgets her absent child
I arrive home upset and tired
But I pray like in the old days
In the Hail Marys I pray today
I forget the words and fall asleep
And although tired, not praying as I should
I don't forget You, Maria
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Time passes, it doesn't come back
I miss that time
When I called you my mother
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus
