A flowered cart
stops at the chapel;
the priest came out to the entrance
to say 'what a marvel!'
At eleven o'clock
the bride and groom enter arm in arm;
their hat and shoes were filled
with rice.
When they were on their knees
the sacristan whispered
in the groom's ear
and rang the bell, ding, ding.
The priest said goodbye
to the whole family;
after a dog barked
he himself closed the door.
In the flowered cart
the family is already leaving;
around a bend
the procession was lost.
