La Canción de Luciano
Patricio Manns
Luciano's Song
(to luciano cruz aguayo, one of the main leaders of the mir (movement of revolutionary left), dead in mysterious circumstances on august 14, 1971)
As luciano passes by
The pergola women weep
And thus cover his never-ending death with petals,
His never-ending life, his stopped clock
But that, silent, marks
The hours he would announce,
The stubborn and cold hour
That the people tied to his hand
So that luciano's struggle would bloom.
He returns in bone, in cold, on a horse,
In a kiss, in a burn.
He is of steel, of air, of ash, and,
Fully awake, he comes to follow.
Who ties him on the map?
Who shatters his portrait?
Who silences his word?
Luciano upon his return
Unlocks in light,
Uncovers the truth,
Bursts with his hand the wires of fear,
Breathes in every mouth for the revolution.
He returns armed with water and wind,
To watch over your dreams,
To ignite the dead dreams.
Open up to him!
Open up to him!
Open up to him now!
As luciano passes by there is an innumerable people
And a woman tears his name from above.
The dark ceremony of death takes him
Like a shadow in the shadow of the funeral rite,
The rite that illuminates him,
That the people tied to his hand,
So that luciano's struggle would bloom.
