HIMNO FPMR

Anthem of the FPMR

Written march for the FPMR, a clandestine group created by the communist party of Chile in the early 1980s to fight the military government with arms in hand. The chrous is partially based on the melodic course of "Canción para Luciano"

Like the shadow of a living memory
Manuel Rodriguez returned to the combat front
High and hard like endless lightning
Against the same old tyrant

Rising up for the necessary war
He brings in his hand the punishing flames
He comes and goes with his invisible militias
To signal that a new man is rising up

The country is in pain
Manuel will put her on her feet
Beating hard on an inglorious night
Elevating man to his own story
Helping the people in victory
With the urgency of his dignity

Come join the Manuel Rodriguez patriotic front
To conquer with him
Life, Bread, Peace
With the Patriotic Front, he will find unity
That the one who divided today, history will bury
Join the Rodriguistas militas
Because This time, the homeland will win

If a fighter asks you for bread and wine
If a rodriguista stops his horse
Do not lock up your conscience
Do not deny your hands to the ones on the street

He is of course Rodriguez by his father
He is manual and is your brother of the homeland
The fight goes on every other day
Holding the weapon that will free us

Because the country is in pain, the front will raise it
Beating down on the Inglorious night
Elevating man to his own story
Helping the people in victory
For the urgency of his dignity
