Mélancolie
Patrick Watson
Melancholy
I wake up in the morning
A coffee in my hand
And it's pretty gray outside
I read the news
It annoys me
Always the end of the world
I go back to my bed
No need for fake smiles
Under the sound of the rain
But I'm fine
When I hide
Underneath the melancholy
Underneath the melancholy
No waiting
Easily content
No need to get drunk with your poetry
No need to be sad to be calm and comfortable in silence
Solitude
It's a hug too long and too good
I hear people outside
Damn the world, they're too worked up for me
And my walls shaking because of my neighbors having sex
I hope I don't have a parking ticket
But I'm too good
I'm too good
Underneath this melancholy
I'm too good
Underneath this melancholy
There's something singing
Perfect as you are
Me and myself
Like at the end of the world
