The Hunger
Monday I woke up upset
Dreamed about the supermarket but had nothing to eat
Turned to the side, going to sleep a bit more
My sleep is disturbed, I'll solve it later
At noon, as the hunger didn't go away
I went to my aunt's house and asked her to bless me
Oh Olegário, I can't solve your problem
A plate of rice with egg, beans, flour, and collard greens

Wow, I'm so hungry
Spent the whole day without eating
I don't know what to do with my life
For a plate of food, I'll kill or die
On Tuesday, with a huge hunger
I took to the road, walking aimlessly
And asked for help from those passing by
But people ignored me, and I kept going
On Wednesday, with an empty stomach
I went to the police station and asked to be arrested
Mr. Officer, I didn't do anything wrong
But I want to be jailed or even chained
If you give me something to eat
