Marcas do Eterno
Pe. Fábio de Melo
Eternal Marks
Before you enter my life
Decide for me
For my story
You must be clear to know well
Who I am
So later don't tell me
You were mistaken
I can't be what you want
I am much more than your eyes
Can see
If you want to follow me
I extend my hand to you
But you can't for a moment
Forget
I am consecrated to my Lord
I know I am sacred ground
Life that heaven sanctified
Eternal marks are in me
Before your love arrives
Another love already found me
And enveloped me with so much light
That I can't forget
If you still want to stay
Welcome to my place
To this heart that decided
To plant itself entirely in God
And now doesn't want to be imprisoned
I just ask you to help me
To be holier
That sometimes I forget myself in my corner
It's just that my holiness
Needs solitude
Only then my presence
Is healthier
Don't ask me for what
Belongs to God
Nor give more than I can receive
Being loved excessively
Is as harmful as not being
I ask you to help me to be of God
