Vida
Pe. Fábio de Melo
Life
Through the city streets, people walk back and forth
They don't see the evening fall, they go in their steps as hostages
In a life with no way out, life without life, for better or worse
On the benches of these parks, nobody touches, without noticing
Where the sun hides, the horizon tries to say
That there's always a new day, every day, in every being
You don't need a new truth, a venture,
To find in the lights that come on an eternal shine
And to hold hands and give beyond the gesture itself
And to discover, happily, that love hides another universe
Through the alleys, through the bars, through the places no one sees
There's always someone wanting
A hope, to survive
Each face is a mirror
Of a desire to be, to have
You don't need a new truth, a venture,
To find in the lights that come on an eternal shine
And to hold hands and give beyond the gesture itself
And to discover, happily, that love hides another universe
Each face is a mirror
Of a desire to be, to have
Perhaps, who knows, an angel passes through this city
And by enchantment opens its wings over men
And gives the will to give to others without measure
The ability to live life, life
Life, life
