Branching Out
One of the things I find fascinating about Jesus is his ability to find people in the crowd.
He could spot a man up in a tree and see a friend in him.
It's beautiful, a friendship that blooms from hardship, when you show up unprepared, and the other sees your worst, yet still falls for you. Real love, everyday, constant.
Jesus loved people like that and made them his friends. He brought them close to Him.
It's amazing to see how this man, this God, can delve into another's misery and find the hidden gem. That’s Easter, that’s resurrection. It’s when in the tomb of our hearts, someone discovers a thread of life, and by pulling that thread, helps us become better.
There’s nothing more beautiful than being found when you’re lost.
There’s nothing more beautiful than being discovered when you don’t know where to go and don’t even know where you are...
Human love has the power to be God’s love in our lives because of this: because it chooses us!
That’s why it’s good to have friends, because truly, friends anticipate in time what we believe to be eternal...
When they can look at us and see the beauty we have. Even if sometimes it’s hidden behind what’s fragile.
That’s why I’m so grateful to God for the friends I have. For the people who found in my worst, a little bit of good, and still stand by me, helping me be human, helping me be more of God, helping me seek within myself, the good essence that we believe God placed in each of us.
Having friends is like branching out: spreading limbs, spreading roots... So that when others look at the tree, they know we’re there... That we remain to provide shade, to bring a little comfort that sometimes they need in life...
BRANCH OUT! GROW TREES! BE A FRIEND
Flowers, they’re all the colors
Of so many loves,
That I’ve never forgotten.
Clear, this sap flows through my heart,
A truth that connects me to you.
Free, from all the evil, this thing called friendship
To me is a root
That leaves marks in the soil,
It’s the beauty of a shoulder to lean on, saying yes.
The earth’s need, presence
Essential for life,
Your way of being for me
Already prunes what’s bad.
My desire is to be for you
Like shade, endless rest.
And if one day you forget me,
Just remember I have roots.
Just remember I’m still around (2X)
