Our steps can already be heard approaching
Our voices of joy can already be heard
On this day that is a blessing
For the gathered church
Jesus Christ gathers us and makes us brothers
How beautiful are the feet
That announce peace
And the hands that share the bread
In the meal of the Lamb
Of the word, wine, and bread
We are the people of God in communion
All of you who are thirsty
Come drink from the fountain of truth
Satisfy your hunger
Without paying for wine or bread
Our hearts of stone are already changing
By the power of the spirit of God
We have already overcome the barriers
That destroy harmony
Jesus Christ gathers us and makes us brothers
Come all who are poor
Unjustly treated, homeless or without bread
Come to be brotherhood
To generate Christ, to bring liberation
Our fears of being free will die
So many defeatist voices have already been silenced
We have already set out
Towards the promised land
