Dos mil recuerdos
Pedro Guerra
Two thousand memories
These are memories from the past of places now remote
when I was nothing more than a piece of the adult I am now
from that bike ride with bubbles in the air
two streets that were as tiny as me
I have in a trunk two thousand memories that remained
from that time where I keep the illusion
The sale of La Rosa nineteen seventy-two
a candy stick and a lemon ice lolly
movies with diamonds Gustavo and two plus two
the cobblestone street, the chalk, and the crayon
nothing has served me so much
that I have learned over the years
once again the memory found me on my steps
I look back to the past and relive my songs
those old emotions that I lost as an adult
I have in a trunk two thousand memories that remained
from that time of that so childish smell
the pinballs the feeling gesture
calm as a rule January as April
a sun made of clay summers to live
the candies that make noise firecracker and licorice
And the X Patrol winning for me
and stamps in the kiosks and so much to ask for
the square as an excuse the verb unspoken
a Bazooka gum and a Tintin story
