The Lark
In a golden cage
Hanging from a balcony
A lark was found
Singing her pain
Until a little sparrow
He arrived at his cage
If you can get me out
I'm going with you
And the poor little sparrow
He fell in love with her
And the poor man did as he could
The wires broke
And the ungrateful lark
After he took her out
As soon as he was free
He flew, flew, and flew!
The poor little sparrow
He still followed her
To see if he complied
What he promised her
The evil lark
This is what he answered
I don't know you
I have not been a prey either
And the little sparrow is sad
Then he returned
He stopped in an apple tree
He cried, cried and cried
And now in that cage
Slope of the balcony
The little sparrow is found
Singing his passion
