El Corralero
Pedro Messone
The Corralero
The corralero is very bad
And there in the pasture, he's like an old man,
We must help him to die,
So he doesn't suffer anymore,
You were always the most accurate
And that's why you must alleviate his pain.
How does he expect me,
Who raised him from a foal,
To stab a knife in his chest,
Because the boss ordered it.
Just let him graze,
Don't reject my advice,
I will bury him,
When he dies of old age.
Next to the stream in the lowlands,
I found him lying there almost dying,
I approached very slowly
And tried to explain to him,
But seeing him resigned,
My hand trembled and I started to cry.
How does he expect me,
Who raised him from a foal,
To stab a knife in his chest,
Because the boss ordered it.
Just let him graze,
Don't reject my advice,
I will bury him,
When he dies of old age,
I will bury him,
When he dies of old age.
