Towards Peace

Tel Aviv before midnight
The wind doesn't want to rest
And the loneliness chokes me
In a cafe between the neighborhoods
They haven't turned off the lights yet
On an old chair alone I sit

I'm not sure what to say
If it's worth at all to call
To tell
And the wind comes from the sea
It throws a small glance
She invites me to sit

She invites us both to turn around
And only complains to the wall
What a wall, maybe it's shaking
A bell rings in a really closed room
Close to the way to peace
Calculating
Tonight we're not going to sleep

In Tel Aviv after midnight
Climbing up the stairs
Finding keys opening doors
A small table, two chairs
She asks what I want to drink
I really feel like a picture of a painting
Two glasses on the table
And she pours and pours
She finishes me
A white wine is poured
She whispers a small whisper
Slowly enters my heart

She invites us both to turn around
And only complains to the wall
What a wall, maybe it's shaking
A bell rings in a really closed room
Close to the way to peace
Calculating

Between all that is happening between us
A fan is spinning because of the heat
What a heat
Maybe we'll go to the room
If you want, you can
Stay here also to sleep
What a sleep
Tonight we're not calculating
