Lo Que Un Dia Fue No Sera

What Once Was Will Not Be
In your hands I learned to drink water
I was a sparrow that was trapped in your cage
Why I cut my wings
And the birdseed you gave me
It was so little and yet I loved you
My song to you was always complete
Without you I couldn't fly to other skies
But you left me alone
Confused and forgotten
Another hand offered me the desired fruit
What once was and will not be
Don't come looking for me again
I have nothing to give you
I'm tired of your birdseed
Go fly to other skies
And leave your cage open
Maybe another sparrow will fall
But give him something to drink
Let me turn on the light, I don't want anything
If this had been yesterday I would take it
The first time you offer yourself
So that I can stay here
But without loving you since I would win
What once was and will not be
Don't come looking for me again
I have nothing to give you
I'm tired of your birdseed
Go fly to other skies
And leave your cage open
Maybe another sparrow will fall
But go ahead
To drink
