La Ballata Dell'uomo In Più
Peppino Gagliardi
The Ballad of the Extra Man
He was the last in the class
But nobody wanted him
Every day something new
And he laughed at everyone
Then life stole him away
Without ever giving him more
He was content with this
Until it bothered him
He wanted to pick daisies
But the fields in bloom were no more
There was a race of many lives
That fell down in barren fields
He didn't think, he laughed
Moving forward was a pleasure
He was looking for something
That he didn't know, but felt
He was looking for something
That he had inside, called love
A mouth and two black eyes
Were not enough for his thirst
For the light he wanted
They didn't trap him in the net
A music took him
Where nothing disturbed him
With the drum that excited him
Until it stopped him
A daisy struck him in the forehead
And a red-blue flower bloomed for him
This was the prize for a life
That earned freedom
A field of daisies was born
And together with others he will remain
He won't have a name, among many lives
He won't be the last, but an extra man
