Exu Marabô
Pierre Simões
Exu Marabô
On the path of Oxossi, there’s
A powerful Exu, so bold
Strong like a warrior,
Beautiful like the rising sun.
He works in the wild woods,
Breaking our demands apart.
He’s not afraid of curses,
He’s the Exu, your Marabô.
One day he got tired
Of fighting against the spirits.
That’s when Marabô said,
"Don’t worry about it, man."
He told me to come chat with him.
In the jurema’s shade,
The most beautiful light appeared,
And my world was enchanted.
Marabô, Marabô, Marabô,
Servant of the Oxossi crew,
Bring abundance to my home,
For my jacutá and my canzuá.
Marabô, Marabô, Marabô,
You’ve done so much for the workers,
But it doesn’t hurt to ask
Just to watch over your child with love a little longer.
