La História de María
Pimpinela
Maria's Story
Joaquín: Maria painted her face every morning just in case he came back,
She read and laughed at his letters alone like a child. . .
What's going on with you, Maria?
Everyone asked her. . .
But she said nothing, just sang. . .
Lucia: Come back, come back love,
My life without you is empty,
Come back, come back love,
I spend my days counting,
Please come back, don't forget me,
I'll be here waiting for you. . .
Joaquín: And so she spent the hours, crying in silence,
Talking to herself,
Sitting by the window,
Looking at the street in case he arrived. . .
How Maria is changing!
Everyone was already whispering,
But she said nothing, just sang. . .
Lucia: Come back, come back love,
My life without you is empty,
Come back, come back love,
I spend my days counting,
Please come back, don't forget me,
I'll be here waiting for you.
Joaquín: And on a winter morning they saw her crying while reading:
"Forgive me and don't wait for me anymore,
I've started a new life here. . ."
What happened to Maria?
Everyone wondered,
But she said nothing, just sometimes sang. . .
Lucia: Come back, come back love,
My life without you is empty,
Come back, come back love,
I spend my days counting,
Please come back, don't forget me,
I'll be here waiting for you
