Castração a Pealo
Porca Véia
Castration at Pealo
Raising dust the cowboy yells
Beating bells on the grazing
The mestizo refuses and comes hitting the lasso
Fastening my horse throwing the brake
I brewed my mate very early
I started the work at daybreak
In the back of the field shouting at the cattle
To come to the pen on a cold morning
Brindle colt skittish and swift
I throw the pots at my loyal dog
Handling the herd with shouts and kicks
Bold and brave to cowboy with me
Who has faith in the armed cowboy
The whip resounds on the cattle
Already fallen in the center of the pen
Ready for the cowboy's knife
In the afternoon I grabbed the accordion
And made the sad song echo in the space
Then I saddled a chestnut mare
I went to the pen to throw a lasso
I raised my arm and sent the braided rope
I whistled a zebu that fell bellowing
In a few seconds it stood castrated
Rebounding the horn it stumbled
The cachaça in the gourd shines the memory
What I did here will remain in history
The boss told me, do it for me now
A verse for the Itacurubi ranch
And from hand to hand the sugarcane goes back and forth
The balls in the ash just hit the firebrand
Castration at Pealo there's no other like it
This is the ritual here in my homeland
In the afternoon I grabbed the accordion
And made the sad song echo in the space
Then I saddled a chestnut mare
I went to the pen to throw a lasso
I raised my arm and sent the braided rope
I whistled a zebu that fell bellowing
In a few seconds it stood castrated
Rebounding the horn it stumbled
The cachaça in the gourd shines the memory
What I did here will remain in history

And from hand to hand the sugarcane goes back and forth
