Despertar do Sertão
Primas Miranda
Awakening of the Backlands
The constant noise of the waterfall
A cheerful mockingbird singing in the woods
The Sun rising behind the green hills
Connecting the earth with the sky on the horizon
Nature always cheerful and so festive
In a noisy pleasure, communicative
The grove with the music of the nests
Forms a poem along the paths
Oh, oh, oh
But how beautiful is the awakening of my backlands
Oh, oh, oh
Blessing my mother, blessing my father
Good morning brother!
It's already morning, the birds in love
Speak of love at the top of the branches
The countryman, swift, leaves the hut
Grabs the hoe and goes to tend to his crops
The pretty country girl, with a heart
Runs anxiously to take care of the animals
Everything stirs in sweet harmony
So in my backlands a new day begins
Oh, oh, oh
But how beautiful is the awakening of my backlands
Oh, oh, oh
Blessing my mother, blessing my father
Good morning brother!
