Calvary
Emptied God descended to us
He did not cling to His place and submitted to the Father
With words, gestures, and love, He taught perfection
The standard of the Holy One was revealed to us
Great was the mission the Father gave Him
His own people rejected Him and did not receive Him
Humbled, He obeyed even to death on the cross
Suffering servant, God-man, He surrendered
On the hill of Calvary, my Lord was dying
With nails in His hands and feet, in such intense pain
Pure Lamb delivered to the cross, for my transgression
The punishment that brought me peace, shedding His forgiveness in blood
In weak breath, He then cried out
The plan is accomplished, and He surrendered to the Father
The sun went out, and in the darkness,
all the people finally understood
Jesus, Son of God, was crucified
On the hill of Calvary, my Lord was dying
With nails in His hands and feet, in such intense pain
Pure Lamb delivered to the cross, for my transgression
The punishment that brought me peace, shedding His forgiveness in blood
Therefore God also exalted Him
And on the third day He rose
above every name, and will soon return
On the hill of Calvary, my Lord was dying
but His power triumphed and death did not take Him
His love is mysterious, I cannot understand
Behold, Christ lives in me, as He obeyed the Father
