Luz Negra

Black Light

We'd have to say that in the immediate
life has been getting harder
our dreams have been stained red
the mouth no longer finds its word
the night wraps the sky and imprisons it
the homeland is moving away from man
and all the flags that waved
have been tearing over time.

We'd have to say that we're no longer
singing on the grand avenues
it's not the same sowing in the guitar
it's not the same song that gives life.
We'd have to bravely affirm
that a world separates us from that world
and a destroyed world is what remains
and a world to be built is the task.

I want sap and love of poetry
and I fight in the poem and in the land
my battle is light and fire in the harvest
of the revolution and the stars.
And I search for my country where men
assign themselves the duty of smiling
and seek in the sea of the invisible
the ultimate reason in this life.

We'd have to say without further ado
that time is deeper than life
light turns into shadow in an instant
history changes the reasons,
sinks even the calmest ship
death awakens with its sword
the blonde honey is being drunk in gray
and the day is born among the ruins.
