El Angel de La Iglesia
Rafael González
The Angel of the Church
There's a man who's given up everything,
because he received a calling
From someone very special, his life's plan has changed.
And family and friends criticize him endlessly.
He doesn't want to share what he's felt because he's committed,
And he can't deny it, it's that the Christ of glory has entrusted him
To care for his most precious treasure,
The flock he bought at Calvary, he's left it in his hands
To take care of it.
He's the angel of the church, that man is the pastor,
Who cares for his flock with patience and love.
He's not a hired hand, he doesn't know how to back down.
He's with his flock, his flock is with him.
Honestly, he never planned this and never
Thought this would happen, the pastor of pastors
Called him, and as an obedient servant, he simply said amen.
However, his soul is now tied to that flock he loves,
In spirit and in truth, many nights his body doesn't go to bed.
On his knees like a child, he groans and cries for souls,
And he strives to return safe and sound to the pastor of pastors
The flock he was given.
He's the angel of the church, that man is the pastor,
Who cares for his flock with patience and love.
He's not a hired hand, he doesn't know how to back down.
He's with his flock, his flock is with him.
