The Exiled
From the beautiful homeland I am far away
I am tired
I miss Jesus
Oh! When will I go?
Birds, beautiful flowers
Who enchants me
Earthly splendors are in vain
But I contemplate my home
Jesus gave me his promise
He will come for me
My heart is in a hurry
I want to fly now
My sins were many
I am very guilty
But his blood cleanses me
I am going to my homeland
Like a child from his beloved home
I want to go
Like a bird to the nest
To flee to his arms
He is faithful, his coming is certain
When, I do not know
But he commands to be alert
From exile I will return
I await his coming singing
My home in heaven
I will hear his steps sounding
Beyond the dark veil
