El Angel
Raly Barrionuevo
The Angel
I can walk your belly, free from love
I can undo your world with my cardboard hands
And the wind that surrounds your silence and your song
Is a wind of hope
An American cry of pain, just pain
Today I lie down in your nobility, with my crystal sword
Today I hide in the ancients, metal hearts
And in the mornings I go back to seek my solitude
In relentless chants
A tide of sky within, I must fly, I just must fly
The angel, the pure angel of your walk
Knows how to die, knows how to sing
Turns into the moon with the salt
It's springtime out at sea
And you will depart in freedom
I bleed out in the nostalgia of a distant sunset
Your hope caresses me, inviting me to be reborn
And a song of sand brings me back to childhood
And I reach my backyard
A dirt path inside to walk, just to walk
The agony isn't so sweet, of these paper years
The sadness isn't so white, that my brush spills
From wise writings, your words I will drink
Captive of this mark
A chest caress inside, I must be born, I just must be born
The angel, the pure angel of your walk
Knows how to die, knows how to sing
Turns into the moon with the salt
It's springtime out at sea
And you will depart in freedom
