Zamba del Ángel
Raly Barrionuevo
Angel's Zamba
My mother said that when
Life takes me to the bread route,
And she's not there to take care of me,
And her advice is missing
Nor that light that blood knows how to give.
There will be a being behind me
With my form and with wings
And that angel is called and is my good.
She also said that that angel
Invisible to everyone and also to me,
The one in airs of shadow
By a wind in the soul
Would give me the truth in his sap.
So it was that for sure
I set course for life
With the strength of the angel in my walk.
Then, with time I went
For suns that go to anxiety.
But the angel wasn't there
I lost him through the childhood
From school to home, time ago.
Loneliness of the attempt
To shout with dreams
The truth that was not given to man.
When the moon in its journey
Breaks my nights in an angel of alcohol,
I bleed on the tables
And the light of a friend
Is the angel that guards my pain.
And the street brings me together
With a different angel
With an ordinary man, like me.
It hurts to know that the thing
I wanted as a child was skin of illusion
And that the angel walks
With the feet of tiredness
That climbs us to life to fight.
And the story of the mother that one day dies
Gave us an angel of guidance with her love.
