El Día Uno

Day One
The years go by and inside I'm the same
I have a lot to learn: Every day is day one
The years go by and inside I'm the same
I have a lot to learn: Every day is day one
The years go by
I keep being the same
I never had the power but I always had realism
I never had money
Always knowledge
In search of a honey to take away my suffering
Because I live like Tony
I only tell what I feel
I never arrived early but I always arrived on time
I always had fear
I never let it take over
Never dead in life, I always lived the moment
And although I was never violent
I always measure every step on the corners
I never had roses but I always had thorns
A garden of ice where I write and live until reaching the climax
Spending the pages of the notebook
I was born just to make rhymes
Breaking the stages
That's why I revive behind the scenes
We have so many disciplines to learn in this life
Just looking to heal that wound
The years go by and inside I'm the same
I have a lot to learn: Every day is day one
The years go by and inside I'm the same
I have a lot to learn: Every day is day one
Before barefoot around the house with short steps
Now on planes that take me to very remote places
I notice gray hairs in my hair
Feet longer on the ground
And good mornings that melt like ice cubes
I was in mourning
Because something in me died
The first time someone lied to me
And although I am distrustful
I trust more in myself
I learned from betrayals, deceptions, and selfishness
And so the scars say they turn into calluses
I stay silent when hate comes
I digest it and don't fret
The wrinkles that wake up early on my forehead and yours
Are a very clear sign
That the clock doesn't help us
Give me your faith
I won't fail
For every mistake I made, I learned ten lessons
Give me your faith
I won't fail
For every mistake I made, I learned ten lessons
The years go by and inside I'm the same
I have a lot to learn: Every day is day one
The years go by and inside I'm the same
I have a lot to learn: Every day is day one
