A Cruz do Lado
Rayanne Vanessa
The Cross Beside
Imagine now, the scene of the crucifixion, there on Calvary
Christ was in the center flanked by two thieves, and one of them was me
There I was
Paying for my sins
And how I erred
Treading wrong paths
Where I ended up, my life will end
At the top of this cross
But it wasn't just me
Who was being condemned
Caught my attention
Someone who was by my side
So quiet, but why was He there
Without having erred
Who is He?
Why did He suffer like this?
Who is He?
Silent until the end
Seeing Him being mistreated
Much more than me
Who had done so much wrong
Without having done anything He was condemned
While pain consumed me
Looking at Him, then I felt peace
On the brink of death, I met Life
Just remember me when you enter your kingdom
For that sweet peace, I want to feel all the time
Truly you are the Son of God
Forgive all my sins
Just remember me
Seeing Him being mistreated
Much more than me
Who had done so much wrong
Without having done anything He was condemned
While pain consumed me
Looking at Him, then I felt peace
On the brink of death, I met Life
Just remember me when you enter your kingdom
For that sweet peace, I want to feel all the time
Truly you are the Son of God
Forgive all my sins
Just remember me
He drew strength from where He no longer had
Filling my soul with joy, He looked at me
As if that peace wasn't enough
Love itself promised me much more
With His sweet voice He said to me
I will not forget you, when you enter my kingdom
And there you will live, feeling peace all the time
In truth I tell you, you will be with me
In truth I tell you, you will be in paradise with me
