Mujer Lunar

Lunar Woman

Neither god nor country nor husband nor party
That's how I was born, that's how I've lived
Since mom gave birth to me in this world
They marked with pink the color of my path
But mom, I like purple
I like poetry and melancholy
I don't believe in fairy tales or fantasies
I don't want to belong to anyone, I want to be mine
I tell myself a story every morning
I opened my wings, fled paradise with Lilith and bad girls
I don't believe in anyone judging from above
I'm the owner of my actions, improvising

I'm a woman, I'm a lunar being
I change like the moon from white to dark
In my womb I carry the seed
From my uterus, all people were born
It's my monthly menstrual blood
Where life is born, not from your rib
I didn't come into the world to make you happy
Nor let your blows leave scars

They've asked me to be chaste and pure
To have no desires and no doubt
That my happiness is in the kitchen
Making stews that deceive my self-esteem
I should aspire to be chained to a house
Married to the best of my caste, pregnant
Give birth to children for the system, and if the belly tightens
Learn to live quietly in poverty
For every blow you give me, the universe trembles
That's why I defend myself, that's why I don't accept
The princes who come to save me
With compliments and money, they come to insult me

I'm a woman, I'm a lunar being
I change like the moon from white to dark
In my womb I carry the seed
From my uterus, all people were born
It's my monthly menstrual blood
Where life is born, not from your rib
I didn't come into the world to make you happy
Nor let your blows leave scars

For having a woman's body, they think I'm tender
But they call me a bitch if I show my legs on the street
More than a wife, people are looking for a servant
Better if quiet and with legs open
I'm a whole fruit, not looking for half an orange
I'm not a whore, I'm not a saint, I am what I want
I aspire to be treated as a human, it's the minimum
From this collective delirium, I emancipate, I abdicate
I don't assume roles that are predefined
I don't love you for your sex but for what we share
Freedom is when there are no more labels
Fist in the air to celebrate the warriors

As in the mountains there are guerrilla women
As in the microphone today there are female rappers
Survivors of violence, single moms
Feminist sisters of planet Earth
