El bazar de los juguetes
Reinaldo Yiso
The Toy Bazaar
Boss, close the door, why do you look amazed
I'll buy the toys he has in the bazaar
I'll buy them all, no matter what I spend
I have enough money to pay
For just one night, I want to be a wise king
So that the kids from all over the neighborhood
Tomorrow when they wake up, they squeeze in their hands
The sun of this joy that I want to give them
At the toy bazaar
How many times as a kid
I would approach to see
To see from there, from outside
From behind the shop window
What I would never have
If my mom was so poor
Always short of a penny
To buy us bread
And now that I can
That luck smiles at me
I don't want there to be a kid
Who doesn't have
A toy to play with
I know what it's like to feel on Christmas Eve
Without a single gift, with a piece of bread
Knowing that others, crossing the street
Left their toys in the middle of the hallway
I know what it's like to be kissed tenderly
By a poor mother who couldn't give me
Not even the humblest and poorest of all toys
That's why I buy them for that reason alone
If my mom was so poor
Always short of a penny
To buy us bread
And now that I can
That luck smiles at me
I don't want there to be a kid
Who doesn't have
A toy to play with
