I envy you, tourist who arrives,

then suddenly you find yourself
Trevi Fountain that's all for you!

There's a Roman legend
linked to this old fountain
so if you throw in a coin
you force destiny to make you come back.

And while the coin kisses the big fountain

You find yourself for lunch at Squarciarelli
fettuccine and wine from the Castelli
like in the beautiful times that Pinelli immortalized!

You see yourself walking in a carriage
and you think back to that little kiss
that was so beautiful and that always said 'no!'

Tonight the old fountain
tells the usual moon
the story near and far
of that English girl who one day left.

I met her here, right here...
