Firmeza
Rene Gonzalez
Firmness
The plaza remains the same, the same people
And I'm sitting in the same place,
Looking at my hands, time slips away
Between thinking and nothing else.
Between joys and smiles
Agony and pain are found
Destroying in the corners of the plaza
From the town to everyone uncontrollably.
I still have the strength to act,
My hands are ready to fight.
I accept your call,
I surrender in your hands,
I am ready to give it all
Jesus my beloved God.
Lift up your gaze
And continue the race,
Even if the pace is slow
What matters is the firmness.
Remember, the race
Is not won by the one who starts
But by the one who reaches the end.
Step by step I carry your word
To everyone, everywhere,
And even though I know there will be stumbling blocks in life,
I continue, for you will help me.
In the valley of shadows of pain
And a thousand armies around me,
I accept your call,
I surrender in your hands,
I am ready to give it all,
With you I go confidently.
