San Pedro

San Pedro

One night of good wine and better company
We walked through the streets until the day crushed us
And we bathed dressed as if on a wedding day
In the town of San Pedro, I saw paradise in her mouth.

And her mother in the kitchen preparing dinner
No dinner is like home-cooked when it's mom who cooks
The world oblivious to ours went at its own speed
While she and I, entwined, promised each other the sea.

We promised each other the sea full of life and salt
Filling our hearts with violence and calm at the same time
It's the same treacherous sea, blue or green, it doesn't matter
We promised each other the sea.

And I spent hours leaning on the lamppost
That lit up her door just to see her pass by
Enduring storms to give her a rose
A rose I never gave her, I never saw her again.

We promised each other the sea full of life and salt
Filling our hearts with violence and calm at the same time
It's the same treacherous sea, blue or green, it doesn't matter (repeat)
We promised each other the sea.

One and one are not two, one and one is what it is
And one day I took my path and she took hers too
And if destiny wanted to tie the two together
I'll hold onto her waist and make a knot with my arms
Because on a moonless night we promised each other the sea.

Life is just 4 days and I'm on the third
And that day I have left, I dreamt it for both of us
But if by chance she doesn't pass by again
I'll remember that in San Pedro we promised each other the sea.

We promised each other the sea full of life and salt
Filling our hearts with violence and calm at the same time
It's the same treacherous sea, blue or green, it doesn't matter (repeat)
We promised each other the sea.
