El Charro Negro
Ricardo Cedillo La Voz Romántica
The Black Charro
He's a black rider who wanders in the nights wanting to find
Souls full of greed, without remorse and lacking fear
They say the charro appears to people who are bad and full of ambition
Signing a blood pact and in exchange for gold, they will give their soul
With his horse he wanders paths and gloomy streets to walk
And in the thick darkness, the neighing of his infernal beast is heard
They say the charro dresses in a suit and hat of deep black
Finery and golden spurs that illuminate the place with moonlight
A sturdy and tall man, seems to be someone of good appearance
Slow, but very sure, he walks towards those who want to sell
But when facing him, they discover that fire melts his being
And it's a consumed body where only bones can be seen
Before walking at night and suffering in that way, he was a good man
Who was born poor in life, but greed transformed his being
They say one day in the mountains, almost dead, he met the devil
Convinced by hunger and without hesitation, he gave his soul
For three bags of money that he used but should never forget
That at the end of his wealth, his fate would be his end
When the last almost empty bag he took in his hands
He wanted to bury it in the mountains and flee to not fulfill his deal
But the devil already knew the man would leave without wanting to pay
And as punishment, he granted him the inability to die or rest in peace
They say he wanders the nights looking for someone to take his place
When that bag is emptied, buying souls, he will finally die
But that cursed bag that never finishes emptying its gold
Torments the charro, thinking that one day he will be able to rest
