En La Faz De La Tierra
Ricardo Montaner
In the Face of the Earth
I'm a reef and coral, I'm almost a snail
I'm an abandoned sea turned into salt
The seagulls no longer come around
No ship approaches me
I no longer have a port here
I am what I didn't want to be
An urgent seeker
Of a lost pearl in a corner
I'm more
A chest that can't be opened
I've hidden the keys to love well
Saving myself for when the woman finally appears
While I search
In the face of the earth there will be a woman
Who is mine
And bathes with me at dawn
All her life
On the face of her body I want to grow
Like a seed
Happy sunflower spinning in the sun
Drinking the sea
Loving each other, sand and snail
I'm the one who randomly looks for you
By air and by sea
Through the deserted street I waited
I ran after the shadow I never saw
I light up and smoke the anxiety
What I think I see is just another mirage
Another absurdity and I search
In the face of the earth...
Without a reason, without a purpose
If no one justifies its existence
It passes alone and dies alone
Without love to feed it
Without romance in what it feels
I search for her
In the face of the earth...
