The Shadow
The darkest moment of the night is just before dawn
The little birds are going to start singing
I think it's time to unlearn
Leaving our grave unburied
Oh! You are my shadow and I give you shelter
I'm going to hug you as if you were my child
And even if the Sun rises, you will always be there
Because you are my sky and my crucifix
Learning to take all the punches
With the same feeling as stretching your arms
It's hard to keep a clear conscience
I'm getting used to washing myself with buckets
Children play on the shore building their castles
They end up with sand in their pockets
Then they will grow up with their fears
Shooting towards destiny and picking up the shells
Hey! Leaving crumbs so as not to get lost
Discarding the questions that can't be answered
Pretending that everything is fine
One day they will look in the mirror and won't recognize themselves
Feeding our shadow
With all the garbage we usually hide under the rug
With all the prejudices projected by those who name us
When the Sun rises, its form is at its largest: The Shadow
The Shadow only leaves you when you are in the dark
To face it head-on, you have to leave the light behind
Fruits will fall from the tree when they are ripe
Our shadow will have to be shared with others
And when you accept what you deny, it will transform you
If we are together, our shadow will be divided
Every event hides something we have to learn
And if we didn't learn anything, it will repeat
Paying for our lives in hugs
Breaking our souls into pieces
Living in the prison of our egos
Or facing our fears and accepting rejection
Searching in the corners of our conscience
Taking care of our innocence is like a talisman
To reconnect with our essence
There is no shadow when we are transparency, like glass
You are my darkness
I will hug you
You are my pain
I will hug you
You are my darkness
I will hug you
You are my pain
I will hug you
