The Morning Song
Here comes the morning song
that King David used to sing.
Today, since it’s your birthday,
we’re singing it for you.
Wake up, my dear, wake up;
look, the dawn has arrived.
The little birds are singing;
the moon has gone away.
What a beautiful morning
as I come to greet you.
We all come with joy
and pleasure to congratulate you.
On the day you were born,
every flower came to life.
And at your baptism,
the nightingales sang.
The dawn is breaking,
the light of day has come,
get up in the morning,
look, the dawn has arrived.
From the stars in the sky,
I have to bring you two:
one to greet you
and another to say goodbye.
Four doves flew
through all the cities.
Today, since it’s your special day,
we wish you happiness.
With bunches of flowers,
today I come to greet you.
And today, since it’s your special day,
we come to sing for you.
