A Estação
Roberto Carlos
The Station
I felt like something was about to say to me
In the time left before I had to leave
But your silence spoke so much more
Than all the words I could ever hear
In your gaze, a sadness was disguised
In my heart, a longing was anticipated
Then your hand caressed my face
And with tenderness, you stroked my hair
And your voice was heard saying goodbye and I was lost
In thoughts and memories
I don’t know how long I stayed there
And how I managed to control my emotions, I don’t know either
To keep me from being even sadder, you smiled
Looked into my eyes, kissed me, then walked away
You walked with calm steps and stopped
Waved me one last goodbye, then moved on
I remembered everything as it was before
Without goodbyes and lives so far apart
Still standing at the station, you saw me
Waved one more time, then you left
And your hand waved to me once more and I was lost
In thoughts and memories
I don’t know how long I stayed there
And how I managed to control my emotions, I don’t know either
