Fruta Amarga

Bitter Fruit
Heart!
On that long night
the bitter fruit ripened
from this immense loneliness.
Heart!
In the clouds of what sky
will the sadness of your flight
wander without solace?
I know it well...
That hallucinating cold
of a moment, blinded me!
It was in a wind of madness,
without tenderness, without forgiveness.
It was in the hoarse cry
of a crazed love
of pain.
You were the sunlight and the happy song
and the gray drizzle
at my window. You were a faithful haven
and a dreamy and jasmine-scented elf
in bloom and you were morning.
Soft murmur... Hill wind...
Warm cooing of the dove.
You will never again be the scent of roses,
freshness of a spring in my destiny.
You will only be the voice that reminds me
that in a cruel moment I made you cry.
You are no longer here...!
And the memory is a mirror
that reflects from afar your
sadness and my wickedness.
You are no longer here...!
And your lengthening absence
tastes like bitter fruit,
punishment and loneliness.
Heart!
A cloud veiled
the sky of us both.
And a cloud alone
suddenly lost me!
A cloud without sense,
without mercy, without forgetfulness, without forgiveness...
