The Story of Christ
Every time I read the Story of Christ
I start to think with great emotion
About the privilege that many had
To look into his eyes, feel his hands
I also wish for the same joy
To see him very close, right next to me
To look into his serene and tender eyes
Oh, what great happiness it would be for me
Oh, I wish to know what his face was like
Although I believe it was very beautiful
It inspired faith and also trust
And gave peace and love to all
And when I see the figures in painted pictures
Of those who say he is the Lord
My soul does not accept those paintings
As it thinks they are a false creation of the painter
I do not believe, I do not believe in a defeated Christ
Full of bitterness, full of pain
I believe in a Christ with a joyful face
I believe in a victorious Christ
Very soon I hope
To see him face to face
That is my hope
And also my faith!!
Oh Hallelujah, I will see his face
I will see Jesus just as he is
