Para No Olvidar
Draco Rosa
To Not Forget
Dying is stepping back, stepping aside,
hiding for a moment, staying still,
crossing the air from one shore to the other by swimming
and being everywhere in secret.
Dying is forgetting, being forgotten,
taking refuge naked in the discreet
warmth of God, and in His closed
fist, growing like a fetus.
Dying is igniting upside down
towards the smoke and the bone and the limestone
and becoming earth and earth with work.
I want to die and start over
He died at dawn, he died at dawn
I want to live and start over
To die and not forget
To die and start over.
