Clavellina Hermosa

Beautiful Carnation
I went to cut a carnation,
From a beautiful little flower.
I went to cut a carnation,
And the plant said to me:
"Take me too,
For you’re taking my joy."
Dressed in your own sorrow,
Are the lilies in the field, oh.
Sad from your own sorrow.
Seeing your dark face, oh.
Oh, tear-streaked face,
One afternoon in spring,
Dreaming, I once saw,
Dreaming, and it looked like a star,
And when it was by my side,
I heard a bell in the sky,
A bell that woke me up.
