La Guirnalda
Rocío Durcal
The Garland
While I was sitting on the beach sand watching the sea
A handsome man
Came rowing in a boat
Approaching towards me
He looked at me, smiled
And I flirtatiously pretended
I acted as if I didn't see
He said hello, why so lonely
At that time I was very disappointed in love
I told him my whole story of my hell and my glory
The experience of a past I lived badly
Next to a love that made me see my fate
He wanted to cause my death and that's why I ran away
And I found those clear green eyes
Like the seas, like the lakes
And I admired his mouth that didn't speak lies
The new story was being written today
A beautiful idyll was newly born
He made me a garland
With pure bougainvilleas
He placed it on my forehead
I felt divine
He turned me into his queen
And took me in his boat
And we saw in the distance
The Port of Vallarta
We heard a sweet and soft song of the waves
And saw the seagulls
My beloved birds fly
And to the rhythm of the boat
I surrendered in his arms
And got lost in the green, gaze of his big eyes
We saw the sun set
We saw it darken
And suddenly
The evening star appeared
We saw each other in silence
We made three wishes
Two were granted to me and the other not yet
Today my wish is
To be in that boat
To be back in the Eden
Of the Port of Vallarta
Today my wish is
To be in that boat
To be back in the Eden
Of the Port of Vallarta
