La casita de madera

There very close to the beach
a little wooden house
surrounded by some pine trees
and wrapped in ivy.

In that humble little house
that I will never forget
I felt the singing of the waves
and the voice of the one I adored.

Sad was the farewell
that winter afternoon.
He left on a very large ship
to fulfill his duty as a Chilean.

Late after late I contemplate
the waves rolling on the sand,
but I never spot the ship
that took away my hope.
