La paloma de la paz
Rolando Alárcon
The dove of peace
No, no, dove, no,
that's not how I work.
No, no, little dove, no,
that's not how I work.
I am a man of the people
tired of working.
My life is work, dove,
but I am poorly paid.
The laws are made
in favor of the boss;
the law doesn't listen to the people, dove,
even if they are right.
They say I have
the duty to work.
They talk about my duties, dove,
but not about my rights.
But we will unite
against exploitation;
the strength of men, dove,
will always be unity.
They judge and condemn us
in the name of peace,
every time we ask, dove,
for justice and freedom.
But you are peace
and you are not with them,
for you fly with us, dove,
dove of peace.
